Night Owl Lacquer – Love Trio & Group Custom

Press Sample

Man this week is just flying by. Between work and kids practices I am beat. But last night….I also had to grocery shop AFTER softball practice which ended at 9pm. I was up at 6:30am, so I was beyond tired. We were down to oatmeal packets and white rice..haha We had some boxes of mac and cheese but NO milk so that was a no go. So we had dinner at Wendy’s before going to practice. Instead of a polish no buy, as a family we should really try to go on a fast food no buy. We go in spurts though. Sometimes we don’t go for months then its like we cram it all into a weekend and go crazy. Lmao Anyways I have been promising a blog post for what feels like forever now. So here it is…finally! Lindsay sent me and a few other girls some gorgeous polishes! The Love Trio released last Friday, just in time for Valentines Day. But not only did that release, Lindsay made a group custom for Night Owl Lacquers Facebook group! I’ll make sure to add the link for that to join at the bottom per usual! All 4 polishes are gorgeous, but I have begun to expect nothing less from Lindsay. You can tell that she puts so much time and love into each and every one of her products. Let us go ahead and start off with the Love Trio first shall we…

Unicorn Love  is described as a deep purple jelly with blue, pink & violet holo shreds. In full disclosure..I do not like jellies. I don’t know why but they just don’t make me drool like so many other finishes do. Now with that being said, I want you all to know that Lindsay has magic powers because she has made me love a jelly repeatedly. This has to be my favorite one though. I was so unsure about it in the bottle but I will never again question Lindsay’s polish making powers! Unicorn Love was so easy to apply. I did do 3 coats but I felt this one shouldn’t be completely opaque. Not sure if that made sense but yeah. I love how much depth this polish holds.. this trio actually. But if you want this purple beauty, click here.

Love is described as a bright red jelly packed with silver holo shreds. Now I was NOT expecting this one to be as bright as it was. I love how the silver shreds reflect off the jelly base. It really makes for a cool effect! I did 3 coats for it to be just about opaque. I also let it flood my cuticles and it left absolutely no staining and was so easy to clean up! The formula was great and very easy to work with. It didn’t really have a jelly feel to it but it is definitely a jelly. For this one, click here.

Love Hate is described as a black jelly with red holo micro glitters, red holo shreds and silver flecks. I love how this polish looks. The name made me laugh because I know that there are so many love hate relationships out there. I feel this polish captured that. A dark side for hate and a light sparkly side for love. Lindsay is very consistent with formulas. I swear all three are about the same consistency. I love that this one and the other two are easy to build up and make opaque. I did 3 coats for this one as well. extremely easy to work with and very easy clean up! You can find it here.

And now let us talk about the “Night Owls Just Wanna Get Lacquered” Facebook Group custom! The Fire Within is described as a medium grey creme with bright red shimmer, red holo shreds and silver flecks. This one is soooooooo creamy! It could have been opaque easily with one big fat thick coat! I really feel all those different red finishes show “The Fire Within” the polish. Lmao. I did do 2 coats but like I said one thick one would have sufficed. Great formula, no pooling, and leveled out very nicely (as did the trio but I think I forgot to mention that). To get this polish, you do have to be apart of the Facebook Group, so head on over there and say hi! We don’t bite. Well not all of us. Haha The group is run by Jenalyn (@velashaa) And Lindsay ( The Maker of NOL). There are random giveaways, sneak peeks, and more. So come join in on all the fun!

So what do you guys think of the trio and custom? Aren’t they just gorgeous! And if you still aren’t convinced you need these in your life, maybe Jenalyn can help convince you over on her blog! Her swatches turned out amazing! The link for her blog is here. I am almost positive you guys can tell just how much I love these polishes and how much I adore Lindsay. She is so easy to work with and just makes great products time and time again. If I didn’t swatch for her I am pretty sure I would be handing her my pay check every new release! For each of the trio I did link them to their individual listings in Lindsay’s shop but they are also available as a set which you can purchase here. Oh I almost forgot! Lindsay has given me a code to share with my readers and followers! Use KKNA10 for 10% off any order! Below are all the links to get and stayed connected! <3

Starlight Polish – Rose Romance S&R

Press Sample

Are you a parent? Have you ever felt like you deserved the worst parent award of the year? Well I am and do deserve that award! Softball and Baseball season has just started and we have had practice EVERYDAY this week so far and will have practice tonight as well. You may be wondering WHY exactly I deserve this award..well it’s simple. I screwed up. I mixed up the times and Bella missed practice. She has never missed practice! I felt horrible. And then I guess you can say I deserve the award for worst employee. Haha, I feel asleep at work and a patient walked in on me! Yeah, I did the whole pop up real fast thing. The guy was cool and suggested I buy a bell for the door so I could get more notice when someone came. Hahaha Needless to say, I will be making a trip to Home Depot this weekend! But you didn’t come here to discuss my screw ups! You came for the polish! Issa from Starlight Polish makes gorgeous holos, and he Rose Romance Collection is no exception. She named each polish after a type of rose. Such a neat idea! These beauties already released and ready to find a spot in your collection but I will share all those links and what not later on. Lets get to the pictures..Our (MY) favorite part!

Angel Face is a lavender holo, named for the lavender Floribunda rose variety ‘Angel Face.’ This soft purple is perfect. I wish I could capture the holo better because it was most definitely shining through! I formula wasn’t to thick and it wasn’t like water so I would have to say it was a perfect formula. It was easy to apply too. I did 2 regular coats and a shiny top coat.

I really like how pastel Angel Face looks when mattified.

And here are some more macros for you…

Next up is Love Potion, a cool pink holo that leans a bit purple-y, named for the Floribunda rose variety ‘Love Potion,’ which has roses that range from cool pink to mauve to purple. I know it’s not right to play favorites but pink is already up there on my list so this polish just screams me. I love it. All four polishes in the collection have a great consistent formula. I also only applied 2 coats of each one but I feel they could have been one coaters with a thicker coat. Issa is for consistent with her products and I love that. Love Potion…sigh if only one really existed right! Ha That linear holo is life and believe it or not…holo is not my favorite finish!

I feel that if you look closely you can still seem some of the holo with a matte top coat. I think I can see the little purpl-y

Macros….

Pink Corazon  is a warm, very slightly coral-tinged pink holo, named for the warm pink rose variety ‘Pink Corazon.’ At first I thought this one and Heart Song looked the same. Once I applied it though…they definitely do not! I’m not the biggest fan of orange but I have to admit, orange with some pink in it makes coral and I love coral! This coral pink holo is so very unique and I own nothing like it so I absolutely love it! Though all for polishes are super holo, I feel Pink Corazon is just a smidge more holo-y lmao

Mattified…

Macros..

Last up is Heart Song. Heart Song is a bright and light red holo, named for the bright red Hybrid Tea rose variety ‘Heart Song.’  In all honestly..I was not prepared for how this would look on my nails. I didn’t expect such a bright fun red holo! When applying the first coat, I literally gasped. Lmao. Bella came walking over and said, “what mommy, why did you make that noise?”  I laughed and said because, look at this color Bella!. She agreed, that it was beautiful! I’m so glad my baby girl is also a NPA…. As I stated earlier, all four in this collection were super easy to apply and only need 2 coats for opacity.

You can see more of the red when Heart Song has a matte top coat

So there you have it. The Rose Romance Collection. A beautiful 4 polish set perfect for Valentines Day. Issa is always a pleasure to work with and is just in general a sweet heart. I feel that she makes some amazing polishes but doesn’t get enough love on IG, so make sure to go follow her! She has a lot of holos and toppers available in her shop now, including this collection, so go check out her shop. As always links are below so that you can stay in contact with Issa of Starlight Polish! I have ey to review something I didn’t like and I may be a polish hoarder…*addict*…but I am so picky! Let me know if you decided to get this collection, I know for a fact you will love it, just like I do!

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer – Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection & More

Press Sample

While I sit here at work, I am constantly thinking of things I need to do. I have had a pretty crazy/busy week but I am far from complaining. I love what I do and love all the different patients I get to see daily. Though I have been running around and drawing blood, I still could NOT wait to get back to the office and write this post. I am really excited about what I have to share with you today!!!!!! <- Do the exclamation marks show just how excited I am?? Haha Well I have a new to me indie on the blog today! I had the pleasure of working with Julie from Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer. I have been dying to work with her so when I got an email for reviewing, I couldn’t contain myself! I have heard absolutely nothing but great things about her and her brand! Julie sent me 5 polishes total, 3 of them are from the Dad’s Mixtape – Side B Collection and the other two are one offs. One offs are ones that don’t necessarily fit in a collection, but let me tell you. These two one offs can do bad all by themselves! Lets shimmy on down to the pictures shall we.

Goin’ Way Down South medium jewel-toned green with blue to purple to pink shifting shimmers. And I definitely have to agree with that! I couldn’t capture the pink shimmer as much but it was definitely there in real life. Julie mentioned that she likes her formula a little on the thicker side but said she made this one a bit thinner so that the shimmers could shine through. That was definitely not an issue and honestly the formula was perfect for me. I only needed to coats to bring this opaque! It dried semi satin and glossy top coat really made those shimmers pop. The inspiration from this polish comes from Julie’s love of classic rock. Her father got her into which is why we can assume, the title of the collection is what it is. This particular polish was inspired by the song Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. I have a swatch video up on IG that you can see here. Make sure volume is up!

How about a brush shot and macro…..

And of course some matte action haha

A Soul For Sale Or Rent is described as black jelly packed with blue-purple iridescent microglitter, silver ultra-holo glitter, pink-purple-blue-gold UCC flakies, green-blue-purple UCC flakies, and platinum microflakies. It definetly has all that jam-packed in there. It was very hard to photograph because of all the reflection haha. Which is NOT a bad thing! For a jelly I was pretty darned surprised at how opaque it was with one coat. It applied smoothly and gave me no problems. It did dry a bit textured but that’s to be expected with all that in there! It also dried really fast too! There was no need for 2 coats of glossy TC, one did just fine. This one is inspired from the song Save Me by Queen. You can watch my live swatch video from IG here.

Now silly Ol’ me forgot to edit/take a macro drop of this awesomeness. I will update with one later. But here’s a brush shot!

I of course did NOT forget to mattify this glitter packed jelly!

Four Star Daydream is the last in this new collection and is described as a clear based glitter topper consisting of varying shapes and sizes of gold metallic and holographic glitters. This glitter topper is no joke! You don’t even need two coats. The coolest glitter in this mix I feel is the star glitters! Those are so neat! In my swatch video I did one coat over a white and black base, but I didn’t like how it looked so for swatching purposes, I did I 2 coats over no base! You can find the video here. What I loved is that there was no fishing needed, there was literally enough polish on the brush that you didn’t have to go dip back in the bottle for more. This one is inspired from the song Money by Pink Floyd! It sure as hell is blingy..haha

I did get a macro and brush shot but I didn’t really see the need for a matte top coat for this one.

Now that we are done with the Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection…here’s a little more information. These polishes are currently available right now for pre-order. The pre-order will end on Feb. 7th at 11:59 EST. There is only one polish that is not available in min and that is Green’s Alexandrite With Me which is from the Green Color Box. The rest is available in full size and mini. The Dad’s Mixtape Side B Collection will be available as a set as well. The price for the set is $32.50 full size and $17 for minis plus any shipping of course. But let us move along to the 2 one off’s that I have to share.

My Precious is exactly that. Absolutely precious! It is described as a blue-leaning purple with red to gold to green shifting iridescent glitters in two sizes. This polish looks like it has fire inside of it! I’m not exactly sure how to describe it. I really like the formula. It was pretty opaque in 2 coats but I feel I did to thin of a first coat. It applied like buttah and dried pretty fast! This polish was offered during Cyber Monday 2015 as a door buster and it was in such high demand Julie thought it only fair to bring it back! And boy am i happy she did! I’m not even that big into purples and this one makes me drool. You can watch my live swatch video from IG here.

Look closely at this macro drop and brush shot. Those iridescent glitters look sooooo cool!

And of course, I absolutely LOVE this one with a matte top coat.

Green’s Alexandrite With Me is described as a deep green holographic with two types of green to purple shift, green-blue-purple UCC flakes, and aqua to green shifting flakes. This right here is my jam. I love anything and all things tealish! With this one I can definitely see what Julie was talking about with liking a thicker formula. It was only a bit thicker but the formula was honestly great. No running and it was gloopy! So for me it doesn’t seem thick. When I think thick, I think hard to apply and this was far from that. I do recommend on wearing a base coat or 2 because it does stain a bit but its a deep pigmented color. I was not surprised! I didn’t wear a base coat for this one and fell asleep so I am pretty sure its fine with one. That was my mistake haha. This one-off is from the Green Color Box and was very popular! I am so glad Julie brought this one back. It dries fast too! I have a live swatch video that you can watch here on IG.

And the macros! Ugh takes my breath away! You can see the shift!

Matte…do you seeeee those flakies!

Well my loves, there you have it. All five polishes that were sent to me for review. I have to say I am pleased with Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer! Julie is an absolute doll to work with too! That always helps. Like I said you have until Feb.7th to pre-order these bad boys so make sure to like/follow BEGL on all social media so that you can stay up to date with new releases and restocks!! Nailed It Nail Polish – Conversation Hearts Collection & Discount Code

Press Sample

Look at that! Two post in one day! Who would have thunk it! I honestly have no choice because I am so back logged. It happens. I have to say though, today i am extremely more excited than I have been in a few weeks! Today my daughter is trying out for softball! I have no doubt that she will make a team, especially because some of the coaches last season were like vultures last season! Who wouldn’t want a lefty first baseman pitcher…haha Anyways lets talk about Tia from Nailed It Nail Polish. She is constantly making good product! Not only am I absolutely head over heels in love with her Bye Girl Barrier, but I love her whipped body butter! It’s amazing for between swatches and just in general! But let us talk about this newest collection that she sent me to review! Dear sweet baby jesus it is just amazing! So the Conversation Hearts Collection consist of 4 holographic polishes. So let’s get this party started! Trust me, you need them all!!

<3

Me & You is silver holo with hints of gold. It is truly a cool polish. And boy did it apply perfectly. Took about 2 coats to be completely opaque and it did dry a bit textured, but very little. Nothing some glossy top coat couldn’t fix! Dried fairly quickly as well! I honestly wasn’t expecting this polish to be as smooth applying as it was, so I was really pleased with that. This polish is available in the shop now for $8.50

Matte yumminess

XOXO is this red leaning dark pink holo. This is such a fun and unique polish! It was completely opaque in 2 coats and dried semi textured. One coat of glossy top coat so it’s not a really thirsty polish! Yay. lmao. Great formula and no staining at all! I did wear a base coat of course. While I am swatching though I have been using Bye Girl Barrier for easy and quick removal! Haha I already bought 2 extra bottles! This polish available in the shop for $8.50

Matte!

Let’s Kiss is a soft delicate pink holo. I think its my favorite of the four but don’t mark my words. All four are pretty fantastic. Formula is pretty consistent in all four too. I feel with a thicker first coat that a second coat wouldn’t even be necessary. They are pretty pigmented polishes so coverage is amazing. But for the sake of being a creature of habit. I did two coats for each polish. And then a top coat and then of course a matte top coat. This one really makes me think of those conversation heart candies! And XOXO makes me think of the writing on them! Let’s Kiss is available with the other 3 in Tia’s shop for $8.50

This one is definitely my favorite matte!

Be Mine is a purple holo. I feel its more of a darker lilac color. Like it’s not dark purple but it’s not light purple, it is somewhere in between. haha I did do live swatch videos of each polish and that is posted on IG so make sure to check that out, if you are wondering how they apply. This is available in the shop for $8.50

Matte all things!

Well that wraps the swatching up! But I have some great news! The first 10 collection sets sold will get a FREE full size bottle of Bye Girl Barrier! How awesome is that. Trust me, once you try it. You will be back for more! But that’s not all! For my followers Tia has given me a discount code! If you use killakay15 you get 15% off your order! This collection is available now in the shop and it is only $30!!! plus the free gift! That is a steal! Even more so if you use the code! All links to shop and social media are below! Baroness X – Yea, I Memba S&R

Press Sample

It feels like it has been forever since I have had the time to sit down and try to string along sentences! Oh..wait. It has!! I have missed blogging dearly but due to my furbabies health issues and then passing, I just didn’t have the heart or time to do so. But I know that he is in a better place and isn’t in pain anymore! That alone makes my heart happy! This post is about 2 weeks late but I feel I should still post it and share with you guys another awesome polish from Baroness X! Demi is constantly coming up with beautiful polishes! I especially like that this one was made with Southpark in mind! Demi sent me and Jenalyn ( @velashaa on IG) this polish to review! Now this set is limited to only 50 so make sure to go snag one! Trust me you wont regret it! Now time for some pictures!

Yea, I Memba is a grape purple holo! Its formula is perfect. It applied very smoothly and barely needed two coats. I am sure if I did a thicker first coat it wouldn’t have needed a second. The brushes that Demi uses are amazing as I have stated before but I also found out that if you prefer a different (smaller) brush, she can accommodate that!!! Just leave a note when checking out. How awesome is that!

These pictures do this beauty absolutely no justice. The holo is super strong! I also feel the polish a smidge darker in real life.

Here are some extra pictures that I normally wouldn’t post but I love how they came out!

I also did some art! This polish is based on the Memba Berries in Southpark. So I cheated and copied my boo bear Jenalyn! You can see her post here.

I also took a sunshot and added SP for well….Southpark Haha

Now.. I hope you guys saw that this is listed as a set! Well when you purchase this you get ^ this full size polish, plus  a sample size balm, and a sample size of baubles (1 large, 1 small) all in a Blueberry Cobbler scent. Ugh blueberry anything is always a hit in my home. The set will cost you $16 plus shipping. Demi is always coming up with something and releases these amazing monthly boxes! So come join us in the Facebook group! All links for Baroness X below!
