Night Owl Lacquer – Dreaming of Green Collection + Code

Press Sample

Hump Daaaaay!! Yay! This week of hell is almost over! There was about an hour in the morning hours where I was like, omg send help. I dropped my full cup of OJ on my modem, then I went to eat my cinamelts and they weren’t even cooked! Poor Jenalyn had to hear me fussing and whining..haha Thank god for her though because I dont know who I would have been able to vent to if I didn’t have her! And not only that, she is the reason I am able to catch up on posting. She is amazing and y’all should all be following her! IJS. Go. Oh she has a blog too!

But let us move on to this Dreaming of Green Collection that Lindsay from Night Owl Lacquer sent me to review. I was given a blogger discount code for it so I guess it wouldn’t technically be 100% of a press sample, but better safe than sorry! Amirite?? Lindsay had this awesome idea to make a collection of ALL green polishes. Well she did exactly that and she executed her idea fabulously. I like green. I don’t LOVE it but I like it and I feel it looks good next to my complexion so I was excited for this collection. There is a total of 5, yes you read that right, 5 green polishes of various shades and finishes. These are already released and available in Lindsay’s shop. Per usual all links will be below along with the discount code she gave me to give to you guys! My awesome readers/followers!

Deciding which one to start with is umm…kinda tough. I loved several! Dont forget to check out my live swatches of these on my instagram as well!

Wildflower Meadows is described as a leaf green with bright purple shimmer & violet, light pink, dark pink & blue holo shreds. THIS IS MY FAVORITE. I could not wait to share this one last but this green shredded goodness is my top pick. Hands down. The shreds Lindsay chose to put in this leafy almost olive base is perfect. They blend so well together but still POP! For these pictures I did do 3 thin coats BUT I have since worn it and 2 regular coats is completely opaque for me. Good smooth formula. Shreds and sparkle on every stroke!

Feelin’ Lucky is described as a bright lime green with color shifting iridescent glitters of various sizes. It also glows under black light but alas i tried and failed. I don’t even want to share the pictures I tried to take under my black light lmao. A purple mess is what it looks like! This one really is very bright in real life. With my tan hands it looked bright and fun on my finger tips! Perfect neon green for summer! I absolutely love the glitters in this one. Most of the time they look kind of blue and that is a good contrast to the green. Formula was good. This is a jelly/crelly so it is a bit on the sheer side! I was happy with what 3 coats looked like so there wasn’t a need for a 4th coat. I can’t understand how she gets the glitters to evenly disburse…like every time.

The Grass Is Greener Where You Water It  is described as a grass-green color packed full of micro flakes that subtly shift from gold to green and scattered holo. I swear, this looks like a football field on my nails. It’s all I could think of while swatching it. Add a few white lines and BAM there’s a field. It is seriously the perfect green. I feel there isn’t one similar shade in this green collection, which I didn’t think would be possible! I only needed 2 coats and I believe I did do 2 coats of top coat as well because this one did dry just a little bit textured. But I mean its packed with glitter goodness, so I wasn’t surprised!

Renewal is described as a mint green with gold shimmer and gold micro flakies. This is a very light and delicate green and I really love it. Sea-foam and teals are my jam (plus anything even close to those colors) and this minty green is PERFECTION. I love that it has a shimmer that compliments the mint base. This was the cremiest of the 5 polishes. I did do 3 thin coats and top coat.

New Beginnings is described as a dark olive-green with bright copper shimmer & copper flecks. This one is a really fun one and the last of the green polishes. The copper shimmer looks beautiful with the olive base. So i lied..the finish on this one is very similar to renewal. It to is a creamy masterpiece! I did 2 coats and top coat.

For an all green collection, I have to admit. I was extremely impressed with these. Lindsay is a sweetheart so it is always a pleasure working with her. She is constantly putting out some amazing polishes and I do know that she has been working on a few things, so i am sure a new release isn’t to far in the future. She did give me a code to share with my readers, use KKNA10 for 10% off your entire order! How awesome is that! These polishes are being sold as a set and separately, so i hope I have persuaded you to pick up a few…or more! Haha As always loves, it has been a pleasure. Talk to you guys soon! Nailed It Nail Polish – Not Your Average St Pattys Collection & Code

Press Sample

Tuesday….it is right after Monday and it is actually my busiest day at work. You see I am expected to be in 2 places at once. Especially on Tuesday’s. Let me elaborate. I run an office with me being the only person in that said office, but I also go to patients homes and draw blood for the same company. Well apparently I am supposed to be able to do both at the same time! ha Yeah no. We all know that isn’t possible. So of course today, Tuesday, I am somehow finding the time to write this post!

It doesn’t matter that I have oil all over my face from the pizza I just devoured or that there is now the white powder from the same pizza all over my keyboard..I am determined to get caught up on post! Today I have a 4 piece collection from Nailed It Nail Polish to share. I already shared swatches and live swatch videos on my Instagram, but I have a few other pictures to share with you guys and of course a great discount code too!

Not Your Average St. Patty’s Collection is filled with greens, golds, flakies, and glitter galore! Wait until you see them all with a matte top coat!! And all of these beauties are AVAILABLE NOW!

Chasing Rainbows is a minty leaning light green. It is filled with different sizes of small glitters and even some dark small shreds too! It really does have a rainbow effect! This was a good formula. Just because there are tons of glitters I think that because they are so small it didn’t really have an effect on the smooth formula. It dried fairly quickly too. And was pretty opaque in 2 coats. It builds up nicely!

Pinch Protector is a forest green polish full of gold flakies and bright green glitters. This one has more of a satin creme finish than the other 3 polishes. Great formula. Tia is always pretty consistent with that though so I wasnt surprised. First coat was pretty sheer so I was a little iffy at first but once I applied a second coat it was completely opaque! I didn’t have any issues with brush strokes either.

Babes Wear Buckles is a very deep almost black looking green. It is jam-packed with multi-chrome flakies AND gold flakies too. It also has a slight shimmer that I really like! It’s definitely not your average st pattys color..haha I made myself laugh. But seriously, I think of the black belt a leprechaun wears and his shoes! Eek this is a really beautiful polish and it was almost my favorite from the bunch. But alas you will see that one next! BWB only needed to 2 coats and I had no issues with clean. Ya know, because I am a messy swatcher and having a dark and/or black polish that is hard to clean up is a big fat no-no. Haha

Fools Gold is my top pick from this collection! It is just amazing! I love how it looks in the bottle, on the nail, with art work etc…You get it. I absolutely love it! I am not surprised though. I have been really liking lighter colors with darker flakies. It is just a yummy combo! Anyways, this one is described as having gold flakies with a touch of sparkly pigment. It’s rainbow chrome flakies are reminiscent of the end of the rainbow where it was found. Tia described this polish perfectly! For this one I did use 3 thin coats but I would have done 10! Smooth application, and sparkly goodness in every stroke!

And there you have it! Another post up! Yaaaay!!!

Overall my thoughts on this collection are as follows…..its great. Each polish is unique but still ties in well with the theme. Tia always has great customer service and it a complete doll. She is constantly releasing awesome collections. But that isn’t all she sells! When swatching, i do use her Bye Girl Barrier as a peel off base and oh man I love that stuff. I just bought 4 more bottles! It dries super fast! She also has sugar scrub, balm, and so much more! And lets not forget the code I promised! If you use KILLAKAY15 it will give you 15% off your order. I suggest you buy this collection, (which is sold individually $8.50 or as a set $30) and some of the Bye Girl Barrier, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Well I am out for now. You may hear from me again tomorrow!!

Pretty & Polished – 2017 Spring Collection + Code

Press Sample

Hey lovies! I am really trying to play catch up so I will be posting several post (hopefully) over the next few days! I swear when I have a lot of post to do or swatching to be done, my life gets busy as all hell! I am constantly running around! But I love staying busy. When things are slow and nothing to do I get bored super easy..haha. Gotta keep my brain active!

Today I want to share with you Pretty & Polished – 2017 Spring Collection. These 6 beauties released on March 1st. They are sold as a 6 piece set ($48) or individually (prices vary). This collection has 2 Dusty Cremes, 1 Thermal, 1 Multichrome, and 2 glitter polishes. I feel they are a different kind of spring polish. Not the traditional colors and I really like it. I mean some are but not all of them.

Make sure to read to the bottom for a discount code!

Pretty In Pink is a light pastel pink. I seriously love Chelsea’s line of dusty cremes. I want them all! Always a great formula. I love how they build up nicely in about 2 coats usually. Which is what I did. 2 Coats and a top coat! It’s perfect for Spring/Easter time! This one is $7.50 and can be found here.

Macro Drop

Lav Me, Lav Me Not is a light pastel purple dusty creme. This shade is perfect for purple lovers! Even those who aren’t that crazy about this purple will love this one! Dusty cremes just make me oh so happy! This one is also $7.50 can be found here.

Don’t Be A Pansy has a white creamy crelly base and is packed with pink, purple, and gold glitters. I absolutely LOVE this crelly! The different glitters look amazing together! As you all should know by now, I am not the biggest fan of crellies, but Chelsea makes some ones! Seriously always so easy to use. No fishing whatsoever! Any who, this is 2 coats and top coat. This one is going for $8.50 and can be found here.

Macro Drop

Perennial Advisory is a thermal that changes from a darker pink when cold to a peachy pink when warm. There are also gorgeous golden flakes along with gold and purple holographic glitters. I have to say I think this one is my second favorite in the collection. I am saving my top pick for last! Chelsea’s thermals are really sensitive, so even in the Florida heat, I get to see it change colors often. Even by me holding a cold drink! This is 3 thin coats and top coat. It’s $9.00 in her shop and can be found here.

Macro Drop

I Love It When You Call Me Big Poppy is a poppy color, packed with gold holographic glitters and pink flakes. I absolutely LOVE this name. Of course I immediately thought of the Notorious B.I.G. haha. I’m not a big fan of orangey colors but I really really liked this one. I can see myself wearing this often. I feel it looked really good against my skin tone. Amazing formula as usual and it only took 2 coats to get as opaque I like. I have serious issues with VNL..I hate mine showing. Lmao This one is also $9.00 and you can find it here.

Macro Drop

Storm is a glittery color shifting multi-chrome. It shifts between greens, blues, purples, and reds! This…this one right here is my absolute favorite out of the collection! Which ir weird for me because I am not a BIG blue lover if there is a pink available in the same collection. But this one drew me to it. It was the first one I swatched and it blew me away! Storm has the same great formula as the others but it is just truly a cool polish. And right now with all the weird weather going on, it seems fitting! I did 2 coats and top coat. This one is also $9.00 and you can find here.

Macro Drop & Another Angle

Glisten & Glow – Oh, The Places You’ll Go Collection

Press Sample

Today has got to be the BEST day I have had in a very long time. I love that I can start off with that. It’s not that I have been having particularly bad days, but I have been having 12 hour work days and that drain me! Especially since we have baseball and softballs games/practices almost every damn night! Between all that madness, I was able to swatch this awesome collection for Jill! She sent me the Oh, The Places You’ll Go collection to review and ugh, cremes are definetly a weakness for me! I will say that I struggled witht these. Not because of the formula but because I just couldnt get my lightinh right! Jills cremes ALWAYS apply like butter so yeah its not them, its me. Lmao While swatching I wanted to capture their true colors, and I think I did pretty damn good if I say so myself.

This set has already been released on Feb. 24th. It consist of 4 pastel neon cremes and…Jills first ever toppers! There is a blue/green one and a pink/red/purple one! You will see pictures in a few! I promise! A matte top coat also released and oh my is it great! Jill said that it may take up to 7 minutes to dry completely but no…just no. It did not take that long for me! I have already used the whole of the one she sent me to review and purchased 4 more! and due to Jill’s wicked fast shipping, I have already got them! But lets mozey on along and get to some swatches!!

Let’s start of with Today Is Your Day…because well today was MY day haha! This is a true sunshine yellow. Formula was smooth and leveled out good. I will say definetly wear a base coat for this one. It is highly pigmented and did stain my nails a little. But hey thats ok, they are yellow from all the painting anyways! I did 2 coats and TC (hkgirl, of course). I also used Glisten & Glows new Matte Top Coat.

I used the other 3 cremes to stamp over Today Is Your Day! They stamped perfectly!

Next is Great Balancing Act… this creme is a beautiful orange mimosa color. All 4 cremes have the same consistent formula and level out nicely. This one did not stain, at least not for me. And for full disclosure, I do not wear a base coat while swatching. Most of the time I will use a liquid latex so that it peels right off but that is defintely not a base coat of any sorts.

Again I used the other 3 cremes and did a stamped gradient! These were definitely fun to work with!

Now on to the pink! Your Mountain Is Waiting is a bubblegum pink! And I love it! I did 2 smooth coats and TC.

And you guys have already seen that the cremes stamp but they can also watermarble! I also topped this mani with Fun To Be Done, one of the shimmer effect topper!

Last of the cremes is 98 and 3/4 Percent Guranteed. This a light periwinkle purple! Same great formula as the other! Purple never looks good against my skin tone but I still liked this one! 2 Coats and TC.

This polish paired with black is just yummy! I used Little Black Dress from Glisten & Glow as well! I did do a little stamping with  Bang Ups and Hang Ups. Yes it does stamp but its not as crisp.

Now on to the shimmahs as Jill likes to call them…haha

Fun To Be Done is a clear based topper with pink/purple/red shifting shimmer in it. I was blown away by this one. It only took ONE coat to get the effect! I used Little Black Dress in this mani as well as the base. Its such and easy black polish to clean up!

I used wedding Gown White, also from Glisten & Glow to stamp these flowers and ugh I love them!

Last in the collection is Bang Ups and Hang Ups. This one has a blue/green shifting shimmer in it. This is a really fun one. I like how Jill made 4 cremes to match the cover of the Book by Dr. Seuss and then incorporated the remaining colors into the shifting effect toppers! Genius!

I am really digging this geometric stamping!

This 6 piece collection in serveral ways. You can buy just the cremes, the summers as a duo, or all six and get a FREE matte top coat! They are all being sold individually as well! If you do ahppen to stop by Jills store make sure to pic up some of her HK Girl Top Coat. It’s all I use and I love it! Haha

Keeps your eyes peeled because Jill does have a 7 year anniversary duo releasing on March 20th and I will say this. You will need them but you also need this cute fun and springy Dr. Seuss inspired collection as well! As always, make sure to follow Glisten & Glow on Instagram and like on Facebook. Jill is always doing live videos on both! Links are below with all the important links!

Mace Polish – Tale As Old As Time Collection

Press Sample

I had this whole blog post typed up and planned out but I have been having issues with uploading pictures! And now that my boo thang Jenalyn was able to fix it! But now I can share all these beautiful polishes with you. I participated in a swatcher giveaway and actually won! The prize was 10 full size polishes from Mace Polish’s new tale As Old As Time Collection. So today without further ado…I get to share my thoughts and opinions on this new to me brand!! I would like to say that Stacy was a pleasure to work with and communicated extremely well! Stacy is such a smart and sweet person, and I see her going places! So make sure to go check her out!

Prince in Disguise is the one that wowed me the most. I was not expecting to like this one in all honesty. But it has become a favorite! It has a brown crelly base and is packed with gold shards and blue micro glitters! It truly looks like the prince’s coat and fur! I had no issues with formula and there was glitter on every swipe! I did do 2 thin coats but feel I should have made the 2nd coat a little thicker. Dried super fast and did have a tiny bit of texture. Nothing a top coat couldn’t fix!

Ruffled Feathers is another crelly and its very unique! It’s a very light grey almost white base jam-packed with black shards and micro glitters. It was a very smooth application and dried quickly. I didn’t have to dig around for shards and glitters either. I did 2 coats and top coat.

Positively Primeval is just yummy! It’s a fiery burnt orange with tons of gold shreds/flakies and shimmer. With this one I did do 3 coats but its worth every damn coat! I swear it. I would have done 10 coats if needed. This polish has so much depth. It is a jelly so you may still see some VNL (visible nail line) if you only do one or two coats. This one dried pretty glossy but of course I still added a glossy TC.

Valencia is a beautiful dark teal with blue/green flakies. This has to be one of my favorites. I love teal, y’all should know that by now lmao. This does have a jelly base so I did do 3 coats. But again sooooo worth it. Formula was great and dried super fast. This polish is so squishy and fun!

Stowaway is a clear based glitter topper thats filled with pink, teal, gold, purple and white glitters. The glitters are such a perfect combination! I had no issues with glitter placement. I didn’t have to fish for the glitters or anything. The glitters do dry matte. I did use 2 coats and top coat.

Enchantress is a gorgeous topper!! This clear based topper is filled with pink micro glitters and color shifting flakies. I did a white base and 2 coats but I have seen it over a black base and wow, it is just amazing! I will have to definitely try it soon! This applied smoothly and no fishing!

Blue Belle is a blurple color with scattered holo. This formula was great. Even thought the formula was great for every polish in the collection, this one and the next 3 polishes had the absolute best. This is 2 coats and top coat. Great coverage. All formulas are about the same so I will just be posting names and pictures =)
