Firecracker Lacquer – Candle Salad Collection

Press Release

Oh my gawd….anxiety has started to kick in and I am on the verge of a panic attack! But instead of being a bad one, it’s a good one if there is such a thing. I leave for New York in 24 hours! I am a ball of nerves! I tried to pack my suitcase last night and umm….lets just say that was a major fail! I don’t even feel like I am bringing much! But apparently my suitcase says otherwise. I will be there until Monday night and then up bright and early for work Tuesday! But I don’t care. This is my first plane ride as an adult ( I don’t remember the one time I flew as a child) and my first time going to the Big Apple! I am super excited and can NOT wait to meet all my fellow indie polish lovers!

But enough about me! I was given the opportunity to work with a  new to me brand, Firecracker Lacquer, besides the fact that I absolutely LOVE the name, Kendahl is such a doll to work with. She communicated with me quickly and I just love her sense of humor. If you haven’t googled the collection name yet, you most certainly should. I will even make it easy for you, just click here and be prepared to laugh! More information on the release will be at the bottom as usual babes!:) Lets get this picfest rolling, shall we!?

Blow Me Raspberries is described as a bright berry pink, brimming with pink and holo microglitters in varying sizes. As y’all know, I ma not the biggest glitter fan, but I can get behind these! I was so very pleasantly surprised when this polish was completely opaque in 2 coats. The formula was great, it wasn’t thick like a lot of micro glitters can be sometimes. I didn’t need to sponge AT ALL! Say whaaaat! Now these microglitters are some thirsty chicas. So I would recommend 2 thin coats of top coat or one generous coat. I also want to add that for it being a glitter polish, clean up wasn’t crazy stupid hard! I mean it didn’t just slide off but I only needed a little elbow grease pose to having to soak them off!

Cherry Poppin’ is described as a raging red, filled to the rim with red and holo microglitters in varying sizes. I personally love this red! I feel like some of the reflection in it give it a scattered magenta color. Absolutely stunning! This one only needed 2 coats as well and no sponging. But the other 2 microglitters in this collection also only needed 2 coats and all 4 of the micro glitters are thirsty as all hell. So make sure to apply enough top coat But also make sure everything is dry in between coats. Also I wanted to say that in the matte photos I was a little trigger happy and took pictures before the matte top coat was completely dry. Totally my fault! So ignore my eff you finger..Haha <3

Eggplant Emoji is described as a pleasant purple, packed full of purple and holo microglitters in varying sizes. Same formula as the other two. Same need for top coat too. I like this purple, it really reminds me of the crayola purple. Oppmf..these are so much more sparkly in real life. I did 2 coats and a thick top coat.

Stick & (blue) Berries is described as a brilliant blue, bursting with blue and holo microglitters in varying sizes. I really love this blue because it’s a true darker blue. Not navy leaning or even indigo. Its simply blue! 2 coats and top coat! Dont you just love these names…if You havent looked it up yet, you should because well….the names would make more sense! Haha

Taste My Rainbow is described as a scintillating silver foil lacquer stuffed with shifting flakies and holo microglitters in varying sizes and colors. This one is my favorite! As much as I love the holo and opaqueness (new word?) I have been on a real flakies kick! This is such a cool polish. Because it isn’t heavily packed with micro glitters I really thought this one would be a thinner polish and I was right but the formula was still amazing. I was so pleased that it too only needed 2 coats. The only difference is that she’s not a thirsty girl like the other 4. Haha.

Well that brings this funny named collection to an end! It was a pleasure working with Kendahl and I hope we can again in the future. Firecracker Lacquer is an amazing brand and if you haven’t tried them out, I definitely recommend you do so now with the Candle Salad Collection! Each polish will be $11 and will release May 4th at 8:00pm EST. All 5 of these colors are so cohesive and you will need them all! I love polish collections you can use together! Haha I mean most are like that, but not all!

I am off to go try to find a jacket because now it’s saying it’s going to be in the 50s in New York, so I was not prepared! I live in FL -_- no need for jackets, just a light sweater a handful of times a year! Ha But anyways, make sure to join Kendahls Fan group on Facebook and follow on IG for all the latest happenings! Le Polish – Polish Con Limited Edition Trio

Press Sample

I can not believe that in 7 days I will be heading to New York! You guys, I am legit starting to freak out. I don’t do planes. I flew in one when I was 11 and lets just say, I don’t remember a damn thing except I chewed a lot of gum! But I am 27 and about to go on a plane for the first time in my adult life, so please wish me luck. Lord knows I need it. Lmao. I am going with my sister-in-law and it will be both of our first times there. We have so much planned in our little four-day stay! Saturday, April 29th, is dedicated to all things Polish Con though and she knows that! I can’t wait to meet the makers and fellow nail artist/bloggers! One of the ones I am really looking forward to meeting is Allison from Le Polish.

I have been swatching off and on for Allison for a little while now and just love her polishes! And I have to say, her press releases are amazing! Haha So detailed and organized! A bloggers dream! Allison reached out to me a little while ago and asked me if i could do a swatch and review of her Polish Con Limited Edition Trio. I am so glad I said yes, because she has yet again blown my mind! Each polish in the trio has a different finish so it makes the trio very unique! Now these will be releasing at Polish Con NY but she will have a small window for pre-orders. I will post all those details at the end. So keep on reading!

Be (Polish)Confident is described as a dusty purple full of shimmer and microflakes. Allison also mentioned that this polish is a sister to the Road to Polish Con favorite Polish Con’t Go (This polish is no longer available but Allison will have a few at Polish Con!). Be (Polish)Confident had a good smooth formula and applied easily. I did 2 coats and top coat. It dried fairly quickly and had a semi glossy finish when completely dry.

(Polish)Conquer the World is described as a navy blue crelly with color-shifting glitter in blue, green, and purple. This one is kind of squishy! I absolutely love the depth in this. The glitters disbursed evenly! I really love this polish and it was almost my favorite until I tried the last one in the trio! The first coat of this one is pretty sheer and I was thinking I would have to build it up with 3 to 4 coats but no. The second coat brought this polish completely opaque. Which blew my mind! It has so much depth, I just want to dive right into it!

Non-(Polish)Conformer is described as a taupe crelly full of purple and green color-shifting flakies. And it is my favorite. I will admit, I usually stay clear of neutral tones. They just do nothing for me. But this one….this one is a game changer. The taupe base is absolutely perfect for the flakies! This formula was perfect and I love how the flakies were everywhere in it! They didn’t migrate to an area but were in every brush stroke! It dried quickly and only needed 2 coats!

Now that you guys have gotten to see the trio with a glossy and matte top coat, which one do you like best? Each of the polishes will be $10 and will be available at con. Now for those of you who aren’t able to make it..don’t fret! Allison will be having a pre-sale open for the trio starting April 28th until April 30th. So make sure to mark your calendars! I also made 2 custom dragon eggs using this trio for Allison, and guess what! She is going to be giving them away! So make sure to stay tuned for all the details on that by joining her group! All links to social media will be below per usual! Until we meet again loves!

The 7th is described as a medium red/berry holo crelly with multi-chrome flakes. In Celebration of Jior’s 7th year anniversary. The flakies in this one are smaller than the ones in the purple polish. This is such a deep sexy red. It was opaque in 2 coats. Sacha really knows how to make holos! What I also loved about this polish, was that I didn’t get any stains. Night Owl Laquer – Light & Bright Collection + Code

Press Release

Well my Easter turkey was another success! I found this recipe years ago, maybe like 3 or 4, and it calls for dry champagne! Ever since I found that recipe, my turkey always turns out nice golden brown and moist! I was so stressed about it because we had like 30 people go to my sister in laws house! We and pulled pork, turkey, ham, and then a lot of sides and desserts! It was great. When we went to hide the Easter eggs…..we found that there weren’t a lot of hiding places, she lives on 7 acres and only have the house built so far! Well we had 360 something eggs to hide. I started just tossing them all over the yard. Haha Kids had a blast so that’s all that matters. I always love getting together with family. But lets talk about this amazing collection that Lindsay released last Friday!

Lindsay sent me this to review and gave me a blogger discount. The Light & Bright Collection is made up of 6 earth shattering cremes that do it all! Stamp, watermarble, and gradients! And then there are the four toppers..ugh they each bring something to the table. Be ready for a picture filled post y’all!!

Imagine is described as a light neon yellow but I have to say, it is definitely the brightest out of the bunch. It tried to freak out my camera but my handy-dandy Note 5 took it like a champ! It also reminds me of a softball, you guys know i see enough of them haha. These cremes are seriously the best. I did 2 regular coats and it was completely opaque! No undies, nothing besides the peel off base I use! I couldn’t believe a yellow neon at that could be opaque on its own like that. The formula is leaning more towards a crelly, a little on the thicker side, but still very very smooth application. I was surprised to see that it didn’t dry matte but with a glossy finish! Available here!

Here is some nail art using Imagine as the base! I also use Persist (pink)! Yes it stamps!

Wish is described as a light neon green creme. I love this green so much. Im not even that big of a fan of creme. Its opaque in 2 coats and dried glossy! These are cremes so there really isn’t a whole lot to describe. When it comes to cremes and neons I guess what I worry most about is application, formula, doesn’t it need a undie, and does it watermarble and stamp? Lindsay hit it out of the park because these cremes watermarble, stamp, are UV reactive, opaque with no undies in 2 coats and just overall a great polish! I won’t be writing long descriptions on the rest of the cremes. But you can get this one here.

Nail Art using Wish as the base. I also stamped with Persist, Imagine, Dream, and Believe.

Dream is described as a  light neon blue creme. This one is light bright blue sky color and is perfect.  Opaque in 2 coats, no undies of course. Available here.

My favorite nail art that I have done in awhile! Unicorn and Rainbows Oh My! I used all other 5 cremes for the rainbow, Dream as the base, and I also used the topper Moonlight as well!

Believe is described as a  light neon purple creme. And guess what guess….this one did NOT make my skin look all wonky when I took pictures! That alone made me happy! OF course the great formula did too. Haha I tend to shy away from purples because they don’t photograph well on me because of my tan skin. This was opaque in 2 coats as well. You can find this perfect purple here.

Eeeek this nail art was done with a special person in mind! My bestie Jenalyn!! She is a gamer and loves NIght Owl Lacquer just as much as I do so i thought it was fitting to make a mani for her! I used Believe as the base and then the other 5 cremes to fill in the stamping, plus I used Moonlight again!

Persist is described as a  light neon pink creme. I LOVE PINK! This one is a fun double bubble kinda pink too! So damn creamy, I just can’t get over this formula. No worries guys, Jenalyn and I have requested all colors in this formula lmao I have a feeling we may be having more cremes from Lindsay in the future! They may be plain but they are not easy to make! And they are great for nail art! Amirite or what! You can buy this bubalicious pink here.

More Nail Art! Yes this collection inspired me tons! I used Persist and the base and the other colors to fill in the stamping,

Inspire is described as a neon coral creme. Just like pink i love me a good coral. This one is no different! I can see a mani with a teal in the future! Opaque in 2 coats. This one is the last of the cremes in the collection and I  think it wraps up the cremes well! Now I feel like an idiot because I did a beautiful mani with this polish but I completely forgot to take an actual picture of it! *Le Sigh* It happens sometimes but I wore that sucker for 3 days! Haha rare, I know! You can find this one here.

Now lets move on to these 4 amazing toppers! As I have said repeatedly before, I do not like glitter bombs or chunky glitters and these are perfect! All 4 are in a clear base and arent overbearing (not sure if that is the correct word to use but yeah), it doesn’t take away from any nail art but adds some sparkle/character! So moving on!

Moonlight is described as a  topper polish with a clear base full of silver galaxy holo glitters. AND ITS MY FAVORITE. Have you ever used Fairy Dust by China Glaze? This is very similar but honestly  I like this one better. I feel that the CG one sometimes hides to much of the nail art. This one is perfection! I only did one coat over my gradient base, which I used all the cremes for! You can find it here.

Sunshine is described as a  topper polish with a clear base full of gold galaxy holo glitters and it is Moonlights counterpart! It is exactly the same except gold! I forgot to mention that these 2 toppers applies flawlessly! I rarely use gold but I will be using this bad boy! I used it as a topper over Wish. One coat and done!It is available here.

It’s All Rainbows & Unicorns is described as a topper polish with a clear base packed full of various sizes of crystal rainbow shifting flakies. I love the shift in the flakies! I only did one coat over a polka dot mani and made it matte to show the flakies better! Again for the dots I used all 6 cremes! Very easy application and you can find it here.

Light Up The Shadows is described as a  topper polish with a clear base with various sizes of matte black & white glitter and opalescent glitters. This is a very unique one! I ended up having to do 2 coats because I forgot to record the first coat -_- I used this over a smoosh mani that I did using 3 of the cremes, Persist, Believe, and Dream. This is the last of the toppers and I think it is a great addition! You can find it here.

I also wanted to share a mani of how well they stamp! I almost forgot too! These were so easy to use!

Phew! That was a lot of pictures! But I absolutely enjoyed swatching this collection. Anytime I had any questions Lindsay was very quick to answer. Her customer service is amazing and I love how involved she is with her Facebook group. She also gave me a code for my readers & followers! KKNA10 gets you 10% off your order! If you are in her Facebook group she gives a little bit bigger discount on new releases most of the time..ijs you should join! This collection is available in 4 ways: all 10 which is $60, all the cremes (6 polishes) for $38, the toppers (4 polishes) for $26, OR individually for $7 each. I love her price point, because her polishes are so affordable. They are great quality and from such a sweet person. I can’t praise Lindsay enough. I may be a bit biased because she has become a dear friend but she is constantly putting out amazing polishes. I hope I have compelled you to buy a few! All social media information is below!

My Stunning Nails Guest Post

Hey everyone! On the blog today I have a guest post from Lisa. This was my first time EVER doing one so here it goes! I did not change or alter anything that Lisa wrote 🙂 I hope you enjoy! And isn’t that ring just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing Lisa <3

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Hi all! My name is Lisa Oswald and I have been blogging about nails for about five years. My blog is My Stunning Nails (formerly Lisa’s Nail Obsession). I also have a blog for planner stickers called Stick It in Your Planner. I am so pleased to be with you here At Killa Kays Nail Adventure to show you the nails that I prepare for you.

I tried to think of something springy and what’s more springy than a ladybug and a daisy on a sunny yellow background. These were partly inspired by a design I saw on Pinterest. That is where I get most of my inspiration. Spring is about getting time for picnics in the park and what comes with that? Ladybugs! Soon the flowers will blooming, some have already, but daisies are usually one of the first to arrive.

I painted my nails with a sunny yellow polish by Butter London. Then painted the ladybug and daisy by hand with acrylic paint. I learned to paint with acrylic paint by watching Robert Moses on her YouTube videos. I don’t know how to do it any other way. At this point, I have been painting with acrylic paint for so long that I wouldn’t want to change.

Recently, I got a new topcoat. It is Seche Vite, but it is Instant Gel Effect. That combined with my new light for photography sometimes creates a glare. I have been using a lot of matte finish topcoat lately because of that.

Anyway, here are the nails I’ve been talking about:
I used:
Seche Vite Crystal Clear Base Coat
Butter London Jasper
Americana Snow White
Americana Lamp Black
Americana Razzle Berry
Americana Leaf Green
Apple Barrel Pineapple
Seche Vite Instant Gel Effect Top Coat
Again, thank you to Kaylyna for the opportunity to post my nails here for you today. I hope to see you around!
