Starlight Polish l The Aurora Collection & More

Press Release

This past weekend was absolutely crazy. Daniel had a baseball tournament and the heat was insane. I thought I was going to melt. I felt so bad for the boys, they played their heart outs in that heat. In all honesty, I wouldn’t have been able too! I also learned that I’m not as young as I thought I was. After the last tournament game on Sunday, my mom surprised us with a trip to Disney! We ended up at Animal Kingdom and it was so much. But……we stayed until 1am on a Sunday and I had to be at work on Monday at 8am. Mind you..we were 2 hours away. So we slept at the hotel until 5:30am and left at 6am. Happy to report I made it but I was ded all day long. I wont be doing that again, that’s for sure.

But let’s talk about Starlight Polish and her amazing polishes. Issa makes amazing holographic polish but kills it at toppers. Issa has told me that toppers are her favorite to make and i have to agree for this collection. They transform a polish and make it magical! Issa sent me 10 polishes to review, 8 are from her new Aurora Collection (2 sets of 4, one set is The Aurora Top Coats and the other set is the Mythological Aurora Top Coats) and 2 are new additions to her existing Mythological Collection, which is also fantastic! All 10 are toppers and I used them all over the same base, Obsidian, which is another of Issa’s polishes. It’s a really dark gray almost black with subtle shimmer. I love it! I reviewed it in another post, which you can find here. I’ll list the pricing below and then start sharing all of the swatches!

Pricing

Aurora Top Coats: $9.00 full size/$4.00 mini size

Aurora Top Coat set (all four Aurora Top Coats): $32.00 full size/$14.00 mini size

Mythological Aurora Top Coats: $15.50 full size/$6.75 mini size

Mythological Aurora Top Coat set (all four Mythological Aurora Top Coats): $58.00 full size/$25.00 mini size

The Aurora Top Coats (4 Polishes)

Aurora Australis is described to have shifts from orange through green. It is named after the Southern Lights. This top coat was very hard for me to photograph. In my swatch pictures it looks like not very much is on my nail after 2 coats but that is so far from the truth! This had such a beautiful sparkle. I really do like it how it looks matte! Good formula and glitter placement. You can buy it here.

Venusian Aurora is described to have shifts from light green through gold. It is named after Venus’s diffuse aurora effect. I did 2 coats over Obsidian. All four in the Aurora Collection have the same formula. So that means its great! Each one is unique and has such a cool shift! You can find this one here.

Jovian Aurora is described to have shifts from light blue through violet. It is named after the intense auroras of Jupiter, and the color choice inspired by images of Jupiter’s northern aurora from the Hubble in ultraviolet and the Chandra X-ray Observatory. 2 coats over Obsidian and great formula. You can get it here.

The Mythological Aurora Top Coats

Phoenix Aurora is described as having iridescent glitter that shifts from orange through green and shimmer that shifts from red to gold to green. It’s the counterpart to Aurora Australis and contains the same pigment used in Starlight Polish’s other Phoenix-named polishes. This topper is just gorgeous! I actually used it to make a dragon egg! The shift is amazing and I have to say it is definitely one of my favorites…I would be lying though if I said I didn’t love all four in the Mythological Aurora Collection. I only needed one coat over Obsidian to achieve this look. You can find this one here.

Dragon Aurora is described as having glitter shifts from light green through gold and the shimmer shifts from bronze gold to green. It’s the counterpart to Venusian Aurora and contains the same pigment used in Starlight Polish’s other Dragon-named polishes. Again, I can’t get over the shift. Haha It is just AMAZING. One coat over Obsidian. Perfect smooth formula. You can buy it here.

Unicorn Aurora is described as having glitter shifts from cool-toned green through blue and the shimmer shifts from cool green to deep blue. It’s the counterpart to Aurora Borealis and contains the same pigment used in Starlight Polish’s other Unicorn-named polishes. Okay I lied. This is my favorite. Blue and green tones are just gorgeous AND it matches my hair! Hahaha. Again, this is only one coat over Obsidian. You can buy it here.

Kelpie Aurora is described as having glitter shifts from light blue through violet, and the shimmer shifts from aqua to violet. It’s the counterpart to Jovian Aurora and contains the same pigment used in Starlight Polish’s other Kelpie-named polishes. I feel like a broken record at this point. Issa is consistent so of course this is a great formula and one stroke of polish is jam-packed with glitter and shimmer galore. One coat over Obsidian and top coat. You can find it here.

Mythological Top Coat Additions

Pricing

Kelpie: $12.50 full size/$5.75 mini size

Kelpie Song: $16.50 full size/$7.00 mini size

Kelpie is described as a color shifting shimmer top coat that shifts from aqua to blue to violet. Issa does all things mythical perfectly. Like this looks like magic on my nail beds! The mythological collection is amazing as is but these 2 additions add a little more bang! This is one coat over Obsidian and top coat. You can find it here.

Kelpie Song is described as a holographic version of Kelpie. Kelpie is bluer than Unicorn and its shift goes more into violet than Unicorn’s does. Just look at that holo. I totally didn’t do this polish justice! This is one coat over Obsidian. It can be found here.
